Where To Watch The ’90s ‘Mummy’ To Revisit The Brendan Fraser Classic

If there’s one thing Hollywood loves, it’s a good ol’ reboot. The next reimagining of a classic franchise to hit theaters will be the revamped The Mummy, which updates the monster tale with state of the art special effects, a female antagonist, and Tom Cruise screaming in an airplane. But for people who grew up with the Brendan Fraser-led franchise, you may find yourself pining for a trip down memory lane, and wanting to learn where you can watch the ’90s Mummy.

First of all, I feel like I should point out that the new Mummy film isn’t trying to reboot the Brendan Fraser version. The new movie is kicking off Universal Pictures’ “Dark Universe,” which is a cinematic universe populated with the characters from the classic monster movies Universal produced from the 1930s-1950s. In addition to the Mummy, future films will feature the Wolfman, Frankenstein and his Bride, the Invisible Man, Dracula, the Creature from the Black Lagoon,…

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – Pop star Katy Perry will join reality singing competition “American Idol” on ABC, the network said on Tuesday, adding a big name with legions of young fans for its revival of the show.

Perry, 32, is the first major name to come aboard the reboot of the show, which was canceled by Fox Broadcasting last year after 15 seasons amid declining viewership ratings. The new “American Idol” will air in 2018.

Hellboy, the demonic comic book hero turned Guillermo del Toro film franchise, is poised to return to the big screen, this time without the filmmaker at the helm.

Millennium is in negotiations with producers Larry Gordon and Lloyd Levin for a new installment that would reboot and relaunch the property. Mike Richardson of Dark Horse Entertainment is also producing.

Neil Marshall, the horror director who broke out with The Descent and won raves for his work on Game of Thrones, is attached to direct the project, which has a working title of Hellboy: Rise of the Blood Queen and has a script by Andrew Cosby, Christopher Golden and Hellboy creator Mike Mignola.

Del Toro is not involved, nor is Ron Perlman, the actor who inhabited the red-skinned, cigar-chomping devil in the two previous installments.

Rather, David Harbour, the Stranger Things star, is in talks to play Hellboy.
