#Planebae: Woman tweets story of strangers meeting, internet falls in love

Therese Patricia Okoumou, 44, of Staten Island, was charged with federal trespassing, disorderly conduct and other charges, The New York Daily News reported. She is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday in Manhattan Federal Court.

The woman who scaled the Statue of Liberty Wednesday after a protest against President Trump’s immigration policy has been coaxed down by emergency responders. Police worked to escort the woman down for about four hours, according to The Associated Press.

Emergency responders have reached the base of the statue where the woman is and are working to bring her down.

According to WNBC, a federal source said that the woman is being uncooperative and is not responding to emergency responders’ instructions to get her down from the statue.

Emergency responders are now actively working to get the woman down from the statue, but are working slowly and deliberately in doing so, a New York City Police Department Emergency Service Unit source told WNBC.


A woman climbed the Statue of Liberty in New York City during the Fourth of July holiday.

WNBC reported that the woman was seen scaling the statue after an “Abolish ICE” banner was unfurled below the statue. The woman has been sitting at the base of the statue for more than two hours, occasionally pacing back and forth against the statue.
