Of all Myers-Briggs personality types, INFJ is considered to rank as the rarest.
Once they find a partner, however, people who belong to the group form long-lasting bonds characterized by empathy and a deep level of commitment.
INFJ Personality Types: Strengths and Weaknesses Because it happens to be relatively rare, the INFJ personality is somewhat misunderstood.
Work towards getting your partner to open up.
Once they start trusting you, chances are that you will learn a whole lot about them that previously remained hidden.
Which Other Personality Types Are Most Compatible with INFJs?
The INFJ best match balances their negative characteristics while gently challenging the private person to come out and to explore new aspects of life.
A few personality types are highly compatible with INFJs.
In addition, they possess a degree of creativity and will that will appeal to the INFJ.
While INFJs are a rare personality type and they have various challenges to overcome, finding true love is possible.
However, the true leaders and those who are the most respected by others are the ones who, no matter how much chaos is going on around them, can still say, “Okay, this is the situation and this is what we’re going to do about it.” They remain strong, clear-headed, and don’t crumble under pressure.
People respect those who assume positions of respect while also being good to those who are showing them respect.
Respected men promise what they can deliver.
Being a man of your word means that you also need to be a considered man.
Think about the men who you respect most in life.
Be Someone That People Can Look Up to Do you look up to guys who lie and don’t stick to their word?
On the other hand, do you look up to men who work hard at achieving their life purpose, love others without judgment, stick by their word and maintain control of their emotions under pressure?
If you take a moment to imagine some of the real men you’ve met in your life who behave in that way, you will notice that they are the men you’ve respected and looked up to the most.
Take the Lead in Situations Taking the lead in situations doesn’t mean that you always have to be the leader or that you always have to be the alpha male.
Getting the Respect You Deserve Being more respected as a man really comes down to you becoming and being even more of a man than you are right now.

Sometimes a resource pops up that is just over-the-top in terms of it’s usefulness.
Template Maker by Maarten van der Velde is one an outstanding example of a resource to bookmark for later use.
Template Maker is a collection of calculators that create various papercraft templates for you, all free.
At first glance, you might expect simple things like various sized boxes and cylinders but as you scroll around and look you’ll find not only are the shape calculators varried, but the level of customization of each is impressive.
Each calculator offers the ability to modify the shape and output a template immediately, then save it to your computer for later use.
You can quickly switch between units of measurement like inches, cm, and mm as well as change aspects of the shape itself, like number of spikes on a star.
There are mostly bold shapes that would be convenient packaging for something else but he has also created some interesting structures meant to hold things inside a box.
I could easily see returning to this page many times in the future to help projects along.
You will also notice that a few of them are marked as premium, and these link off to another page by Maarten van der Velde, where you can pay a small fee for some more advanced templates.
But each one enumerated hundreds of details on individuals, ranging from the value of people’s mortgages to the age of their children, as well as other personal information like email addresses, home addresses, and phone numbers.
But first, Hardigree wants to make a point: The Exactis data exposure was no “breach,” he says.
He also says he’s been in contact with the FBI, and claims the agency has been scanning the dark web for the Exactis data and found none.
It was warning him about the threat to his privacy from his own company’s data exposure.
He calls Troia, the researcher who found his exposed data, “not a good guy,” and accuses him of tanking Exactis in order to raise his own profile. “At the end of the day, the door was wide open, and he was leaking data on all these people.”
Hardigree claims that hundreds of small companies possess similar data. “This data is out there, and it always has been out there,” Hardigree says.
While Hardigree at some points defended and downplayed his company’s privacy mishap, at other points in conversation he seemed to acknowledge the example his company has served as a small firm that’s paid the price for a massive data exposure—not a unique one, perhaps, but one among a growing class of small data aggregators that was unlucky enough to have been caught with its firewall down.
All of us need to be responsible for protecting this information.
Whether it’s Siri, Cortana, Alexa, or another female voice telling you when to turn right on Google Maps, it’s most commonly an AI ‘woman’ who takes our commands.
With so much female servitude in our smart devices, along with the rapid deployment of AI, it should come as no surprise that technology is hardwiring sexism into our future — but Q, the world’s first genderless voice, hopes to eradicate gender bias in technology.
Created by a group of linguists, technologists, and sound designers, Q hopes to “end gender bias” and encourage “more inclusivity in voice technology.” They recorded the voices of two dozen people who identify as male, female, transgender, or non-binary in search for a voice that typically “does not fit within male or female binaries.” To find this voice, the Q team conducted a test involving over 4,600 people, who were asked to rate the voice on a scale of 1 (male) to 5 (female).
From this experiment, audio researchers were able to define a frequency range which is gender neutral.
They recorded several voices, working on the pitch, the tone and the format filter and finally achieved “Q.” Despite the underrepresentation of women in AI development, it’s no coincidence that almost all voice assistants are given typically female names, such as Amazon’s Alexa, Microsoft’s Cortana, and Apple’s Siri.
According to several studies, regardless of the listener’s gender, people typically prefer to hear a male voice when it comes to authority, but prefer a female voice when they need assistance.
While a genderless voice is a step in the right direction towards inclusivity, technology cannot progress and move away from gender bias without diversity in creative and leadership roles.
Gendered voice assistants reinforce deeply ingrained gender biases because the data being used in machine learning training is based upon human behavior — robots are only sexist because the humans they learn from are.

One might have thought this was an academic question.
Google is deploying some of its vast resources to train political parties, journalists and editors how to spot and fight fake news.
This is part of a $300 million international initiative it announced in March last year that has three objectives.
We can make sure it does not show up on Google search.
Google will have up to nine staff working on their programme in the run-up to the election.
They will be working with sites like Africa Check to allow the public to assess which news is true and which is not.
The party spent R50 million (£2.75 million) on the operation.
The tip of an iceberg Google will train about 100 journalists by the time of the election.
South Africa is by no means the only African country suffering from cyber-attacks.
Russian and Ukrainian firms are said to have targeted several governments and private companies, in search of lucrative contracts.
The satellites, known as cubesats, were sent to watch over NASA’s larger InSight spacecraft as it attempted a perilous landing on the surface of Mars at the end of November.
NASA engineers weren’t sure what to expect when the MarCO mission launched last May.
And multiple spacecraft orbiting Mars already relay information from its surface back to Earth.
If these two tiny satellites worked well, it would not only mean that similar spacecraft could support big planetary missions in the future, but also that cubesats might carry instruments of their own.
If future missions tow along their own MarCOs, teams back on Earth may always know how their spacecraft are doing.
The cubesat came back online just in time.
are currently working on planetary cubesat missions.
“We think we can actually send a small spacecraft all the way to Jupiter,” said Dr. Baker.
Or we create a way for it to only radio home when it needs help.” These are the kinds of engineering challenges the MarCO team worked to overcome with the journey to Mars.
“Not necessarily better things, but different, and a new way of space exploration that will complement all the larger missions that we do.” As it passed Mars, MarCO B returned the first photo ever taken from a cubesat in deep space.
It unveiled an unnamed electric SUV priced at $40,000.
Although details are scarce this early in the process, Fisker made the announcement just days after Tesla unveiled its Model Y compact SUV.
It starts at $39,000.
Fisker plans for the car to officially launch in 2021 and is targeting — just like the Model Y — a 300-mile range on a single charge.
A four-wheel drive version with two electric motors will be available, like Tesla’s dual motor version of the Model 3.
More details like the name, final look of the SUV, and exact pricing will come by the end of this year.
Fisker’s EMotion luxury sedan — considered a Model S competitor — is the company’s “flagship” car, and is expected to go 500 miles on a single charge.
The EMotion was first shown at CES last year, but the release date of the car with its signature butterfly doors (take that falcon wings!)
The priority is to get the more affordable EVs made and available first.
Fisker also plans to release its Orbit driverless shuttle later this year.

Google and Facebook, by contrast, offer their services for free, while Amazon built its reputation on selling as cheaply as possible.
Nothing is ever really free, of course, and there has been a dawning realization among some consumers that they are paying for these services with information about themselves.
The headline finding was that “a growing majority now views our online privacy as a crisis.” But deeper in the survey was the revelation that more than half the respondents said they were unwilling to pay to keep from being tracked by a service they were using.
Twenty-one percent said they would pay less than $1 a month, and no more, for the right.
Users, it seems, want it both ways: privacy and free services.
Daniel Crane, an antitrust expert at the University of Michigan, said Ms. Warren’s proposal might be a hard sell to voters.

But in the months since, even some of those who thought the tax was a bad idea have found their views evolving.
Amazon failed to avoid bullying behavior in its now-abandoned bid to build a headquarters in New York, and Facebook likewise failed last week when it took down Ms. Warren’s posts about Facebook having too much power.

In the aftermath of New Zealand’s deadly mosque shootings, Facebook removed more than 1.5 million videos worldwide of the massacre that live-streamed on its platform.
That means 300,000 made it online.
HuffPost was informed that the New Zealand government told news outlets and online platforms on Sunday that sharing any of the footage ― regardless of whether it was edited ― violates local law.
In the first 24 hours we removed 1.5 million videos of the attack globally, of which over 1.2 million were blocked at upload… — Facebook Newsroom (@fbnewsroom) March 17, 2019 Out of respect for the people affected by this tragedy and the concerns of local authorities, we’re also removing all edited versions of the video that do not show graphic content.” — Mia Garlick, Facebook New Zealand — Facebook Newsroom (@fbnewsroom) March 17, 2019 In a Friday statement to HuffPost hours after the violence unfolded, Garlick said Facebook’s teams were “working around the clock to respond to reports and block content, proactively identify content which violates our standards and to support first responders and law enforcement.” Garlick added that all of the flagged videos would be added to a database allowing the platform to detect and remove any re-uploaded copies automatically.
Facebook isn’t alone among tech companies in struggling to root out content related to the attacks.
YouTube has also launched an effort to stop the spread of the footage, and Twitter has suspended the alleged gunman’s account on which he appears to have shared a 74-page manifesto detailing his hatred of Muslim immigrants.
The shooting killed at least 50 people at two separate Christchurch mosques, injuring dozens more.
There are a number of sticking points that can keep new players away from complex tabletop games such as Dungeons & Dragons.
Some people are intimidated by the math involved, and of course others just can’t find enough friends who are willing to sit down and play D&D with them in 2019.
While this gadget created by [Caleb Everett] won’t help you get more open minded friends, it will take some of the mental gymnastics out of adding up dice rolls.
Now that the hardware is put together, he’s free to dig into the software side of things and really get creative.
Inside the 3D printed case of his calculator there’s a Adafruit Feather M0 Express, a 128 x 32 OLED display, and a 2200 mAh lithium ion battery that lets him go mobile.
The keys, which are Cherry MX clones, are wired directly to the digital pins of the Feather board as [Caleb] found that easier to wrap his head around than doing a matrix.
This ended up working out as he had enough pins, but does stifle future expansion a bit.
Even if you aren’t into the sort of tabletop gaming which would benefit from an automatic dice roller and tabulator, we think [Caleb] has come up with a very neat form factor for similar pocket sized gadgets.
It reminds us of the Handlink from Quantum Leap; before the prop department swapped it out for a jumble of gummy bears later on in the series, anyway.

WIRED sat down with Przegalinska at SXSW this week to talk about the monumental challenge of replicating human intonation, why the future of humanoid robots may not be particularly bright, and what happens when you let students teach a chatbot how to talk.
WIRED: So why study robot voices, of all things?
When you think about robots, the creepiness is not only in the face and in the gaze, although that’s very powerful.
The chatbot was talking to my students for a whole year, mainly learning from them, so you can gather what kind of knowledge it got in the end!
My students always talk to that chatbot and they’re so hateful.
People were constantly stressed out.
The group that was talking to the text-based chatbot usually had twice as long conversations.
For instance, if you said you hated sports, and the conversation was long enough, the chatbot would say, “I hate sports too.” So it could be lying to you.
Beyond the semantics, when it comes to current robot voices, what is throwing people off specifically?
Because I think that if you have some sort of system that’s easily classifiable as a machine, but is still super smart and responsive, perhaps that’s enough.
Windows 10 no longer shows the estimated battery time remaining after the Creators Update.
Your computer is making an informed guess and displaying an estimated battery life in real-time.
By default, both macOS and Windows just show the percent of your laptop’s battery you have left with no guess about how long it will last.
How to Bring Back Battery Time Remaining To bring back the battery time remaining in Windows 10, you just need to make a few edits in the Windows Registry.
In the Registry Editor, use the left sidebar to navigate to the following key.
To do so, right-click the EnergyEstimationDisabled value in the right pane, select “Delete,” and click “Yes” to confirm.
Next, right-click the Power key in the left pane and select New > DWORD (32-bit) Value.
This hack removes the EnergyEstimationDisabled and UserBatteryDischargeEstimator values and then adds the EnergyEstimationEnabled DWORD we talked about in the previous section.
Running the hack modifies the values of your Windows Registry.
The other hack included disables this feature and reverts everything back to the way it was before, adding EnergyEstimationDisabled and UserBatteryDischargeEstimator values back to your registry and deleting EnergyEstimationEnsabled .

The hard truth is that most things in your life – good and bad – are your fault.
Here’s how to cultivate an active mindset and take control of your life.
Traffic was bad.” “It’s not my fault I lost money.
I got the stock tip from a friend.” “It’s not my fault I don’t have the skills for the job and was laid off.
But most of the time these kinds of things are your fault.
People with this mindset also say things like, “Why does this always happen to me?” When the language you use about things going on in your life is passive, you slowly convince yourself that nothing is your responsibility.
It means you don’t have to look inside yourself and change anything.
It means you’re not in control.
An active mindset means you are responsible for things you control.
“Sorry, I should have planned for traffic, I’ll consider that next time.” “Wow, that investment blew up!
Think about your mornings.
Here are some things to consider when starting your morning routine: You don’t have a morning routine You wake up and realize that you’re already running late.
So, if your mornings look anything like the above, it’s time to get your own morning routine going.
While doing the same thing day in and day out can make you feel like you’re stuck in the movie Groundhog Day, your mornings (and the rest of your day) could seriously benefit from a little routine.
You don’t plan ahead of time If you don’t have a plan in place, it’s easy to lose focus.
You’ll know exactly where you need to be and what you need to be doing to make the most of your mornings.
While hitting that snooze button and waking up at the last possible minute may sound appealing at the moment, doing so can leave you with that frantic, rushed feeling that we all know and dread.
That means you most likely won’t have time to stick with the routine you planned out the night before because you’ll simply be too busy reacting.
To be the best version of yourself for work, school or your family, spending time on yourself can work wonders.
You may have to incorporate this new habit slowly and work towards waking up at an earlier time, but it’ll be worth it in the long run.
Woman Who Helps Rich People Cheat Their Way Into Prestigious Schools Reveals That The Whole System Is Rigged
The American Dream has slowly but surely turned into the American Nightmare; the notion that anybody, regardless of wealth, race or social class, can make it to the top has become thoroughly discredited.
Wealthy parents bribing and cheating to ensure their kids into elite schools is nothing new; the upper classes have long since rigged the system in their favor to ensure that the door remains closed to all but their own, often mediocre offspring.
But while the concept of the 1% looking after themselves is well known, it’s not often that a concrete, infuriatingly obvious example of the process actually occurring is made public.
The college admissions scandal has finally shone a light onto this shadowy world of influence and coercion, and it might just open up a whole can of worms.
This case involved “Fifty people, including Hollywood stars, top CEOs, college coaches and test administrators, who allegedly took part in the scheme to cheat on tests and admit students to leading institutions as athletes, regardless of their abilities.” The scandal has rocked the academic world in the U.S, raising questions about whether “qualified students were denied entry to accommodate children of the rich and famous.” Actresses Lauri Loughlin and Felicity Huffman have been implicated in the scheme, although it’s unclear whether their children were aware of it at the time.
One of Loughlin’s daughters, influential Vlogger and social media star Olivia Jade, will not be returning to one of the Universities heavily involved in the scam, the University Of Southern California.
If this kind of bribery and blatant cheating happens in schools it begs the question: where else is corruption occurring?
Who knows what dirty secrets are hiding in the worlds of politics, high finance and the weapons industry, for example?
Writer Jaimie Leigh has done us all a service recently, by penning an eye-opening piece that further exposes the festering injustice that runs deep through American society.
The post, which has already been shared over 30k times, details her experience working for wealthy clients, writing papers and doctoring resumes to ensure that lazy, entitled rich kids get the right ‘personal brand’ for Ivy league universities.
Japanese scientists first extracted nuclei, the DNA-containing compartments of cells, from the muscles of a juvenile woolly mammoth called Yuka, discovered in 2010 in northeast Russia.
None of the mouse-mammoth hybrid cells divided to form new cells, probably because the mammoth DNA was too damaged.
But in most of the frozen mammoth cells, the DNA had crumbled to bits only about 150 base pairs long.
“What they saw was mostly the [mouse] oocyte trying to do something with that DNA.” In fact, he says, there’s no clear evidence that the mammoth proteins were doing anything at all.
Usually during cloning experiments, researchers remove the egg’s chromosomes before putting in the nucleus from a mature cell.
It’s those mouse proteins that probably caused the activity that the researchers noted, Smith says.
Are mouse eggs good for cloning mammoths?
So researchers would probably have better luck using elephant eggs or eggs from species whose development is more like a mammoth’s, Smith says.
The researchers also tried putting frozen elephant nuclei in the mouse eggs.
Or maybe elephant and mammoth cells are prone to DNA breakage when frozen.
But when scientists classify the minerals that make up rocks, they leave out the details of how those minerals formed.
But diamonds can form elsewhere in the universe, as well.
Tiny diamonds, for instance, form in meteorites crashing to Earth from space.
Both of these rocks are diamonds.
Stories minerals could tell Right now, every mineral has a “species.” Diamond is one species, for example.
But a rock’s species doesn’t tell you anything about how the minerals in it formed.
Maybe the name of a mineral could say more.
In Hazen’s system, a mineral would still have its species — diamond, for example.
Rust indicates there was oxygen present when the iron formed.
These kinds of details tell scientists more about the world in which the mineral formed.
Mother Shares A Story How She Got Called To A Principal’s Office Because Her Daughter Took ‘Revenge’ On Her Bully
And while there are plenty of prevention programs out there to help tackle the issue, it might give parents a false sense of security that whatever happens in school is ‘not their problem’ and that teachers and school staff will prevent any trouble.
Turns out, the girl tried to hide away the situation and it only came to light when her friend’s mother informed the mom.
One mother recently shared her daughter’s ‘petty revenge’ story online Following an incident at school where she was summoned by a principal, the mom posted this story: “Today I got a call from the school my 9 year old attends asking to please come up to the school because my daughter was in trouble for vandalising another child’s property.
Once he was finished, I turned to my daughter to hear her side of the story.
This year the friendship went belly up when I discovered this girl was trying to extort her friends including my daughter into buying her expensive items on a kids game with threats, backstabbing my daughter and threatening anyone who dared play with her at lunch so she was completely isolated.
My daughter put the pieces of the charm in her jewellery box as a reminder of what fake friends can do to you.
Anyway apparently this girl kept demanding the necklace every day hassling her so my daughter hatched a plan.
Apparently the girl went red and stormed off to the teacher to say that my daughter had destroyed her necklace and my daughter was sent to the office.
My niece and nephew are quite proud and planning to take my daughter out for ice cream this weekend to celebrate her standing up for herself.” “My daughter would try and play with other girls only to be told she wasn’t allowed to.
They apparently employ “the High 5” technique to fight bullying (which has steps – ignore, be friendly, put up your hand and say “Stop it!
Mother Asks The Internet How To Stop Her Son From Getting Vaccinated, Instead Of Giving An Answer They Shut Her Down
Teenager Ethan Lindenberger, from Ohio, made headlines this month as one of the witnesses testifying before The US Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions pleading the need for vaccines, after the story of his anti-vaxx mom made waves across the internet.
Lindenberger first posted about his mom to r/nostupidquestions on Reddit asking if he could get vaccinated without parental consent.
Needless to say, people were triggered by the question and used it to highlight the misinformation and harm of the anti-vaxxer movement.
Well, Lindenberger’s mom is not alone.
A woman turned to the internet for vaccine advice, but unlike the Ohio teen, this anti-vaxx mom was searching for ways on how to stop her almost-legal son from getting immunized once he became of age.
Instead of advice, the woman got some pretty brutal responses In an attempt to squelch the anti-vaxx internet women like this have created, Facebook has decided it will no longer permit advertisements that include false information on vaccines along with removing targeting options such as “vaccine controversies.” Anti-vaccine propaganda has had such far-reaching influence that measles outbreaks have surged around the globe.
The World Health Organization has named the anti-vaxx movement as ‘vaccine hesitancy’ – “the reluctance or refusal to vaccinate despite the availability of vaccines,” and lists it as one of the top threats to global health for 2019.
The most widely spread and disproven hoax about vaccines is that there is a link between the measles vaccine and autism.
Facebook is not the only platform to tackle this issue, in 2017 Pinterest, explicitly banned the “promotion of false cures for terminal or chronic illnesses and anti-vaccination advice.”
No matter how much parents prep their kids before they get their school picture taken, the end result really depends on the child.
They can untuck their shirts, mess up their hair, or, in Andrew’s case, start roaring.
His loving mom, Stronajai Miles, remembers school pictures being a serious affair, so when she stumbled across her son’s photos, she expected something a little more traditional.
“He loves to make people laugh and smile and he LOVES the camera!
He enjoys making videos on the tablet and he is always camera-ready when it’s time for a picture!” “He has taken photos in pre-kindergarten and he has taken fall photos which were actually done by Lifetouch School Photography as well and they came out ‘perfect,’ they had him posing traditionally and smiling normally.” This time, however, was different.
“I was doing my normal routine, checking his bag and getting his clothes together for the upcoming week,” Stronajai told Bored Panda.
“I was totally shocked!
But as she was investigating the situation, the pictures started going viral.
People were thanking Andrew for making their day and all of the positive responses started changing Stronajai mind.
“They opened my eyes to see that everything doesn’t need to be cookie cutter.

Wall Street Journal: Transportation Department inspector general investigating FAA’s approval of Boeing 737 Max
Washington (CNN)The Transportation Department’s Inspector General has opened an investigation into the Federal Aviation Administration’s approval of Boeing’s 737 Max planes, the Wall Street Journal reported Sunday.
The Journal’s report of the inspector general’s probe comes after the 737 Max planes were grounded for an indefinite period globally last week in the wake of two deadly accidents involving the aircraft model.
The investigation will be focused on an automatic safety system implicated in the October crash involving Lion Air in Indonesia, the Journal reported, citing a government official.
It is unknown if the Ethiopian Airlines flight that crashed a week ago will play any role in this investigation or not.
CNN has reached out to the Transportation Department and the agency’s inspector general’s office for comment.
The agency said in a statement, however, that its “aircraft certification processes are well established and have consistently produced safe aircraft designs.”
Both crashes, which occurred five months apart, remain under investigation by the Indonesia and Ethiopia governments, respectively, with the assistance of the US and Boeing.
A preliminary report of the Lion Air crash also showed that the pilots fought with the automatic safety system, known as the maneuvering characteristics augmentation system (MCAS), for control of the jet.
The company plans to have the update mandated no later than April.
CNN’s Ellie Kaufman, Greg Wallace and Chris Isidore contributed to this report.

Perhaps that explains why Tom Izzo was crying when McQuaid hit his final 3-pointer and the game was still in doubt. “Coach wants this so bad for his players, so bad for Michigan State.”
How else do you explain a share of the Big Ten title in the regular season without a single, surefire pro? “Coach better let you not practice tomorrow.”
Finally, McQuaid came back over as his buddy was getting wheeled off, and promised him the rest of the night was for him.
Think of McQuaid’s jump shot, of him backpedaling, of him pointing toward the bench, toward the crowd, toward Ahrens’ family.
To live a full life, there is an important principle you need to remember.
The principle is stay balanced.
There are five aspects of life that you need to keep balanced: Work Health Learning Social Spiritual Unfortunately, many people have what I call “unbalanced success”: they have tremendous success in one or two aspects of their lives but at the expense of the other aspects.
That’s why it’s important that you make a deliberate effort to stay balanced.
They don’t have enough time to be with their family and friends, to grow spiritually, or to exercise and rest.
The belief is that having more money will make me happier.
This belief causes them to spend so much time at work at the expense of the other aspects of their lives.
Living that way will not make you happy.
You need to attack the belief that having more money will make you happier.
By living a balanced life with contentment, you have achieved what many people try to achieve: living a full and happy life.
Art and the Nocturnal Imagination: Painter, Poet, and Philosopher Etel Adnan on Dreaming and Creativity
Nietzsche saw dreams as an evolutionary time machine for the human mind.
Dostoyevsky discovered the meaning of life in one.
Mendeleev invented his periodic table in another.
Neil Gaiman dreamt his way to a philosophical parable of identity.
We are born dreaming.
As we go through life, dream-sleep plays plays a major role in regulating our negative emotions.
When we dream, we are our most essential and sovereign selves — our shadows the starkest, our creativity the wildest, and all of it, crucially, ours alone.
We build and unravel entire worlds, answering to no one but ourselves — and even that, only hazily.
For some people they never stop spilling: the visionaries, the hobos, and all those who speak to themselves, aloud, in the big cities.
Something of the process of dreams recurs… but with a special kind of violence: a painting is like a territory.
President Donald Trump spent the early part of his St. Patrick’s Day on Twitter, taking aim at the late Sen. John McCain, Fox News, “Saturday Night Live,” and GM.
Trump started the morning by slamming “Saturday Night Live” for its repeated jokes about his presidency, even calling for federal regulation of the comedy show in a pair of tweets.

Trump lamented that “SNL” and other late-night shows “can spend all of their time knocking the same person (me), over & over, without so much of a mention of ‘the other side.’
Like an advertisement without consequences.”

Trump in part mentioned a conspiratorial idea that the “Radical Left Democrats” are working together to “silence a majority of our country” by affecting conservative media. “We’re not commenting on internal scheduling matters,” a Fox News spokesperson told INSIDER.

But the smartest picks aren’t just making Duke your national champion — you know, since everyone is probably picking Duke.
Every year, there’s a handful of them that nobody saw coming (ahem, No.
1 Virginia last year).
11 seed Belmont over Temple and No.
That’s because what started off as a season with national title expectations for the preseason No.
Vasa Pusica (17.8 ppg, 4.2 apg) can shoot the lights out, draining seven three-pointers in that CAA title game while helping Northeastern rank in the top-20 nationally in shooting percentage beyond the arc and top-25 in triples averaged per game.
He followed that up with a 36-point performance in Murray’s upset of Belmont in the title game.
Murray State, on the other hand, feeds off Morant’s contagious selflessness as much as his scoring.
Stith (16.9 ppg, 7.4 rpg) and Ahmad Caver (16.5 ppg, 5.6 apg), and that tandem gives this team a good chance of knocking off a Purdue team that was probably over-seeded as a No.
3 seed and just lost to two of their last three games to Minnesota.
No Green for St.
Justin and Hailey Bieber were pressing their luck Sunday, ’cause they opted not to wear any green to the beach in honor of St. Patrick’s Day … tsk, tsk.
The couple hit Laguna Beach with their pup in tow, where, at first, Hailey was wearing a checkered flannel while JB went bare-chested … showing off his tats in blue and grey trunks.
Hailey eventually lost the shirt and revealed her killer beach bod in a pink bikini.
They got in the water too … and then got hopped right back out.
Clearly, they look great.
But again … no obvious shades of green that we can see here.
They coulda easily gotten nipped by some overzealous kids — and there was at least one little girl nearby.
In this week’s episode of the Futility Closet podcast we’ll tell the story of N-rays, a cautionary tale of self-deception.

(Photo: Nicole Rivelli, ABC) Like many “American Idol” hopefuls, Ashley Hess got a late start in music.
The ebullient 27-year-old from Fremont, California, says she settled on a stable job as a dental hygienist, but eventually worked up the courage to pursue her singing passion and move to Nashville.
According to the “Idol” judges, she made the right call. “She could win the whole thing,” Katy Perry said after Hess’ warm, crystalline take on Norah Jones’ “Don’t Know Why.” “You could win this whole competition!
Co-judges Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie were equally ecstatic during Hess’ performances, gathering around the piano as she played and smiling as she gained confidence. “Can I snap you out of your delusional state of mind?”
Richie said. “You could knock this out of the ballpark.”
